Studying English in Shanghai

Studying English in ShanghaiWhile there are many tutoring agencies in the United States, the London English Language School is perhaps the best one in the country. In order to become a part of their program, you will need to attend a weekend workshop where the tutors will discuss your specific needs and goals. If you are familiar with the local market, you will have no trouble finding the right tutor. In this article, we'll examine Shanghai and the kind of English programs offered by the London English Language School. A quick look at the other English tutoring agencies in the country should help you decide if the London institution meets your needs. The London language school is actually a more complex term than it may first seem. Although it's called a school, the goal is not to educate students but to find English tutors that can provide a professional service. This is, obviously, a different approach than you might take if you are looking for English tutors in the United States. If you want to learn English in China, the first step is to learn Chinese as well as any other foreign language you plan to study. Otherwise, the session you attend at the London English Language School will be very limited in scope. An English course would probably include only basic grammar knowledge and vocabulary, with the focus on learning how to express yourself in English.Another thing to consider when studying at the London English Language School is whether the country you are planning to study in is an English speaking country or not. In many cases, the language schools in Shanghai are foreign language schools, and the only way to understand the curriculum is to know a little bit about Chinese culture. You may find that this is an acceptable learning experience for some people, but the London institution won't necessarily agree. It's a good idea to check with your home country, as well, before applying to be tutored at a Shanghai language school. If you are already familiar wi th the language, it's likely that the individual country you are studying in won't require you to speak the language. In most cases, though, individuals from outside the country will be required to learn the language. Finally, one of the biggest benefits of enrolling in an English school in Shanghai is the cultural exposure that it provides. You'll spend several days interacting with speakers of a different language and learning about their culture. If you feel that learning another language is not right for you, this can be a valuable experience. If you have decided to take the next step in becoming an English tutor in Shanghai, make sure that you research the schools in Shanghai that offer the services that you are seeking. The good news is that Shanghai has many schools that specialize in teaching English, so you shouldn't have any problems finding the right place to start. Don't miss out on your education in Shanghai, just because you didn't pick the right school, and get your Eng lish tutoring from the London English Language School.

5 things to Ask Your Kid During the First Week of School

5 things to Ask Your Kid During the First Week of School Back to School: 5 Things to Ask Your Kids the First Week of School It’s important for elementary school students to enjoy their very first week of school. There are so many things for them to do and see, and they’ll probably need a little bit of time to settle in. Theyre making new friends, getting to know a new teacher, adjusting to long periods of concentration, and learning the new academic material. As a result, its a whirlwind week for both student and parent. Some kids adjust better than others, so its important for parents to ask a few questions to see if their kids are getting off on the right foot or if they need a little bit of help to transition to being back in the classroom. 1. Ask about the teacher The most important figure in a childs life at school is their classroom teacher. Although they’ll talk to adults in the office and on the playground the main school representative is the teacher. If they get on well with their teacher and fall into sync with the classroom schedule, they’ll have a fantastic year and look up to a positive role model. However, if they dont mesh well with their teacher early on, they might be in for a little bit of a bumpy road. Its a good idea to find out a little bit about the teacher and their style and get a good read on whether or not your kid likes them. Any misunderstandings can be more easily cleared up if brought up early on (READ: 5 Awesome Online Academic Tools to Use This Fall). 2. Ask to see their textbooks and novels One way to tell if a student is on track with their assignments is to take a look at their textbooks and novels. If they dont know where their textbooks are or what pages they need to read for their assignments its a sign they may have become overwhelmed with their new workload and the extra organization required at the beginning of the school year. Most schools also offer an online version of the textbook that can be accessed any time regardless of whether or not the student left their textbook at school. Many kids dont even know they have an online version, so its a great idea to ask them to show you their online text and walk you through how to log in and find the right chapter. 3. Ask them when assignments are due Another great way to find out if an elementary school kid is adjusting well to academic life is to ask them when one of their assignments is due. Many younger kids reply with something like “my teacher hasnt handed out an assignment yet” or “my new teacher doesnt give homework.” Of course, this is almost never true, but kids like to try it out anyway. This is a great sign that they probably need help organizing their assignments and getting them done on time. Parents can either email their childs teacher or ask a study skills tutor to get their kid on track. 4. Ask them who they at lunch with Some kids are social butterflies, and others are rather shy. Its so important for students’ social health to make a friend or two, especially if they are starting at a new school. One way to find out if a student has made new friends is to talk about who they have lunch with. Some kids will talk about their ten new best friends while other kids will say they ate alone or shy away from the topic altogether. If parents are unsure if their kids are adjusting well socially, their classroom teacher will be a great resource. They will either be present at lunch or be able to talk to the playground and lunch supervisor to get some information (READ: How to Handle the Stress the First Few Months of High School). 5. Ask them about something they learned in an extracurricular class Some kids are not incredibly talkative about what goes on in their academic classes, but theyre usually excited to talk about something they learned in an extracurricular class such as art, music, or sports. If kids shy away from talking about English and math, parents might have better luck getting them to chat about something hands-on like building a Paper Mache sculpture or discussing who won at soccer practice. What is Net Ionic Equation Chemistry?

What is Net Ionic Equation Chemistry? The Net Ionic Equation Chemistry, as the name suggests, is an equation that is based on the properties of ions. The mass and energy density of the ions can be calculated using this equation. This equation, however, will not tell you the molecular weight, for these can only be determined by reading the physical properties of an object. This is why it is so important to do research. It should be noted that a more general term for 'ionic' is 'Electron'. In molecular Chemistry, 'Ionic' means the presence of a negative charge in an atom. The components of a solute are either positive or negative. However, the 'Ionic' component is a little different than the other components, because electrons are supposed to be present in all parts of the molecule. The molecules in matter are all 'positive'neutral' in the sense that they contain no 'negative' charge. The only thing that does exist is the 'electron'. The sum of all the charge on each molecule is what we ca ll the 'charge' of the object. If there is a negative charge, there must be another component that adds up to the charge.By now you should have heard of the unit called the mole, which is the same as the unit of mass for each individual molecule of solute molecules, like the oxygen, carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus, etc. The molecule of an electron, being a charge, has a mass, and a number of mass units, where each of the units has a specific value, depending on the specific mass. The number of units is known as the 'charge' and is written as a decimal number. The mass of the charge is expressed as the 'mass' of the charge. For example, if the charge on an electron is 1,000,000 times the mass of the electron, it would be written as a million thousand million million one. This is known as the atomic number, and it is the number of the electron that is responsible for this mass. The Net Ionic Equation Chemistry is the famous equation that is used to calculate the mass and charge of the atom . The equation takes into account the chemical bonding, and the bonds that are made between atoms, and ions. It gives the mass of the atom and a figure for the charge of the atom.

A Guide to Commonly-Confusing Punctuation Part 1

A Guide to Commonly-Confusing Punctuation Part 1 Unless youre a professional writer or teacher, you may not spend much time thinking about grammarand punctuation. In fact, when you look down at the keyboard, there may be a punctuation mark that is entirely foreign to you. Nevertheless, most people would admit that grammar and punctuation are what makes our writing readable, and in some cases, they even help us avoid awkward phrasing. Don't forget to check out theseseven tips to improve your grammar skills. While many people understand how to use punctuation marks like periods, commas, and question marks effectively, there are several others that you may avoid because youre unsure about how and when to use them. Below is a guide to commonly-confusing punctuation, beginning with three challenging marks: 1. Semicolon Although the semicolon is known as one of the most confusing punctuation marks, you may find it easier to use than you first thought. Semicolons connect two independent thoughts in a single sentence, even though they could be separate sentences. Consider these sentences: I would like to go to the beach today. It seems like a perfect day for swimming. Instead, you could write, I would like to go to the beach today; it seems like a perfect day for swimming. This works because the two sentences are complete on their own, but they make sense together. You may want to take a look at these simple ways to improve your writing skillsas well. 2. Parentheses Parentheses can be tricky to work with because they can be used for a number of different reasons. For example, if you are writing in APA Style, you might use parentheses to create an in-text citation that contains the authors name, as well as the page number and date that corresponds to the information you are citing. However, parentheses are more generally used to include clarifying information in a sentence. For example, when writing a paperthat includes illustrations or charts, you can use parentheses like this: In 2005, the amount increased substantially from the previous year (see Figure 2). In this case, the parentheses indicate to the reader that the information corresponds to a chart that is contained somewhere in the document. These tips may be able to help you boost your writing skills. In creative writing, one might use parentheses to add more information. For example, On his way home, he passed the corner store (it would burn down two years later) and considered stopping in to buy something. In this case, the meaning of the sentence would be clearly conveyed without the parentheses, but the author felt that it was important to note the additional information. Notice that the sentence would still be complete if the parentheses and the contained information were removed. 3. Colon A third example of commonly-confusing punctuation is the colon. Like parentheses, colons can be confusing because they are used in different ways depending on the writer or the style. Generally speaking, however, a colon is used in cases where the writer intends for something to follow a complete sentence. For example, if you said, The United States Constitution states that there are three branches of government, you could expect to also say what those are, even though the statement is a complete sentence. In that case, you would say, The United States Constitution states that there are three branches of government: legislative, executive, and judicial. In this sentence, the colon acts as a literary way of saying, And they are Another appropriate use of the colon is to introduce an idea or quote that is connected to the preceding statement. For example, if you were talking about former President George H. W. Bushs tax policies, you could say, In a 1991 speech, Bush made his feelings about tax increases clear: Read my lips, no new taxes. In this case, the colon indicates that an example that will clarify or support the statement is about to be given. You may also want to consider seekinga writing tutorwho can assess your specific needs. While there are many other, more advanced uses of the aforementioned punctuation, these basics should serve you well as you delve into the world of commonly-confusing punctuation. Don't forget to check out our guide to commonly confusing punctuation: part 2!

Sound Cards for Home Studios

Sound Cards for Home Studios Buying a Sound Card for Recording your Singing ChaptersUsing a Sound Card for Your SingingChoosing Your Sound CardUsing Your Sound Card for SingingSound Cards for Recording Vocals“When a singer truly feels and experiences what the music is all about, the words will automatically ring true.” - Monserrat CaballA microphone, mixer, speakers, and you’re ready to start recording yourself singing, right?Wrong! Something’s missing. You need the right sound card, which is essential for recording audio onto your computer. With the digitisation of audio and the creation of CDs in 1979, the sound card would later become an essential part of any home studio setup. So how can you choose the right sound card for recording vocals? What’s that for? The sound card is essential if you want to record digitally. (Source: Free-Photos)This can be an internal or external computer component. Sound cards allow you to treat the audio at input or output. Put simply, a sound card transforms analogue audio signals into digital audio signals. There are three types of sound cards:A chip integrated into the motherboard. An internal sound card.An external sound card. You’ll need to decide which sound card is best for your singing needs. For example, to compose music, an external sound card connected by Firewire will do the job for most projects. So let’s have a look at choosing a sound card.Choosing Your Sound CardConnecting a Sound Card for SingingThe connection is an important aspect of choosing a sound card since it’s your connection between your voice and your digital recording. There are two main ways to connect an external sound card:USB or USB 3.0 for PC or Mac.FireWire, a faster connection but less commonly found on computers. It shou ld be noted that Macs have a Thunderbolt port to connect some sound cards. When recording digitally, you need more than just a microphone. (Source: smorazanm)The Ports and Outputs for a Sound CardWhen it comes to singing, you’ll choose your sound card according to your microphone and how you’ll want to record your voice. You’ll need one or several XLR ports. So what is an XLR port?Much like a typical audio jack, the XLR port is circular with three holes in it. This is for optimised audio quality.Sound Card InputsWhen you sing, you need to think about the inputs on your sound card when recording. You might be tempted to opt for just one input but, more often than not, you’ll have instruments accompanying you.You need to think about how many inputs you’ll need. For example, if you have a guitar accompanying your singing, you’ll need two. However, some instruments like the drums require several mics and several inputs. We’ll go over the details a bit later. In terms of inputs, you’ll have mostly jacks and XLRs. In some cases, you might also have a digital input depending on the type of device you’re wanting to plug into your sound card.  Similarly, you’ll want an output for your headphones. After all, you’ll need to be able to hear yourself sing when you’re recording. Finding the right sound card is a bit of an art in itself.Studio Monitor OutputMuch like the inputs, the outputs on your sound card will also heavily influence your decisions. That said, you can always get adapters. The most common formats are XLR and jacks. The main role of your sound card is to record your singing. (Source: DayronV)Generally, you’ll want something with control over the outputs and the volumes and an SPDIF output. This is much easier than controlling your output with a mouse.  In terms of monitoring, you want a low-latency output.I bet you wouldn’t have thought that a sound card would be this important! However, if you want to record your voice, you need the right equipment. The AD/DA ConverterThe AD/DA (Analog to Digital/Digital to Analog) converter is the main part of a sound card. This is what allows you to take an analogue signal (your voice) and convert it into a digital signal. The sound quality needs to be clear as the converter will convert it as faithfully as possible. This is similar to the way that a digital camera will take an analogue input and create digital images. As for sound cards, you want to choose the equipment with the right specs:Sampling frequency, which corresponds to the number of samples per second. Generally, 44100 Hz should be enough for decent quality. The number of bits, the closer the number of bits is to the audio amplitude, the better. Make sure you don’t saturate this when recording. We recommend that you record in 16-bit (CD format), 24 -bit, or 32-bit float.Sound Card Latency when SingingWhen talking about sound cards, latency is the time it takes the sound card to reproduce the sounds from the input. Very small latency is manageable and you can manage the latency by adjusting the size of the buffers. Anything under 10ms should be almost unnoticeable.Nowadays, most decent sound cards are external and work with various systems.Using Your Sound Card for SingingWhile there’s a lot of overlap in how you can use different sound cards, there are some things that will be specific to how you want to use it. A sound card can convert any analogue audio input into a digital one. (Source: rafabendo)For example, if you want to record just yourself singing, independently of the other instruments, a sound card with just two inputs will suffice. Two inputs can be used to record to mono inputs or a single instrument in stereo. However, if your goal is to record several people singing, plug in several microphones, or record background audio in addition to your voice, your sound card will need more than two inputs. The exact figure will depend on the number of singers and instruments you want to record.Similarly, you need to ensure that the sound card can support the type of recording that you want to do. Make sure you check the compatibility before you invest in a sound card.“Invest” is the right word as the more inputs and outputs you want, the more it’ll cost. Sound cards can cost anywhere between £30 and £1,500.You need to decide how you want to record and how much you want to spend.Fin d out more about the cost of making your own home studio.Sound Cards for Recording VocalsTo make the world of recording less complicated, here are some reasonably-priced sound cards. Here’s a short non-exhaustive list to give you a better idea:Behringer UMC22 U-PhoriaNative Instruments Komplete Audio 6Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 (2nd Generation): PC and MAC compatible.Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi HDFocusrite Scarlett 2i2PreSonus Audio iTwoAnd many others...As you’ll have understood throughout this article, choosing a sound card isn’t something to take lightly. With all the different criteria for choosing a sound card, there’s something for everyone. So are you ready to start recording your voice?Get singing! If you need more help with your singing, consider getting in touch with one of the many talented and experienced tutors on Superprof. There are three main types of singing tutorial available and each has its pros and cons so have a look at what's on offer and see what will work best for you, your learning style, and your budget.Face-to-face tutorials are between just you and your tutor. Since you're the only student, the tutorials will be planned around you, what you want to learn, and how you like to learn. Of course, this bespoke service comes at a price and face-to-face tutorials tend to be the most costly per hour of tuition. That said, they're also the most cost-effective since every minute in a tutorial is spent teaching you how to sing.Online tutorials are similar to face-to-face tutorials in that they're between a single tutor and a single student. However, thanks to the marvels of modern technology, you can be taught over the internet thanks to video conferencing software. However, since your tutor won't have to travel to you and can schedule more lessons each week, they can also charge more competitive rates.Group tutorials tend to be the cheapest per hour because the tutor's time is being paid for by everyone in the class. Unlike the other two t ypes of tutorials, the tutor won't be able to offer bespoke tuition as they have several students to keep happy. However, if you and a few friends all want to learn how to sing, you can share the cost of private tutorials between yourselves in group tutorials.

My Experience at University of Michigan

My Experience at University of Michigan The tutors behind Varsity Tutors are not just here to teach theyre sharing their college experiences as well. Rahul is a St. Louis tutor and 2009 graduate of University of Michigan. He holds a Bachelors degree in Aerospace Engineering and tutors several subjects specializing inCollege Algebra tutoring, Pre-Calculus tutoring, and SAT Math tutoring. Check out what Rahul had to say about his time at University of Michigan: VT: Describe the campus setting and transportation options. How urban or safe is the campus? Are there buses or do you need a car/bike? Rahul: The University of Michigancampus is suburban, and it is located about 45 minutes outside of Detroit. There is a very good campus bus system, as well as free AATA (Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority) buses for University of Michigan students. Since there are many out-of-state students without cars, this is very helpful. VT: How available are the professors, academic advisers, and teaching assistants? Rahul: If you show the initiative to meet with professors and teaching assistants, they are usually very helpful. Occasionally, study sessions were held before key exams during the semester. VT: How would you describe the dorm life rooms, dining options, location, socialization opportunities with other students? Rahul: University of Michigan requires that freshmen live in the dorms during their first year. I am still good friends with the people that I met through the dorms. The rooms were typical for older dorms. There was a common shower area, since it was an all-male floor. You can also meet other students in the cafeterias of the various dorms. Additionally, the restaurant scene of Ann Arbor is phenomenal. There are many types of ethnic cuisine available, including Thai, Indian, Middle Eastern, and Ethiopian. VT: Which majors/programs are best represented and supported? What did you study and why? Did the university do a good job supporting your particular area of study? Rahul: As one of the premier public universities in the United States, many of the academic programs are ranked highly. I encountered many pre-professional students, in fields likepre-medicine and pre-law. I studied Aerospace Engineering since it is a highly ranked program at University of Michiganwith great lab facilities. The university did a good job of providing a strong academic foundation and support. From a career placement perspective, you have to seek out opportunities on your own. VT: How easy or difficult was it for you to meet people and make friends as a freshman? Does Greek life play a significant role in the campus social life? Rahul: Because there is a large out-of-state population at University of Michigan(which is one of the more diverse campuses in the Midwest), many people are looking to make new friends. Greek life is very big on campus, and it is involved with football tailgates and various other activities. However, if you are not involved in it, you can still make friends since it is a very large campus. VT: How helpful is the Career Centerand other student support services?Do many reputable companies recruit on campus? Rahul: Speaking as an Aerospace Engineering student, the Career Center was helpful. They hosted career fairs every semester, as well as corporate-sponsored resume reviews. Many large companies such as GE, Pratt Whitney, and Schlumberger recruit at University of Michigan. So do the national laboratories. VT: How are the various study areas such aslibraries, the student union, and dorm lounges? Are they over-crowded, easily available, spacious? Rahul: The Shapiro Undergraduate Library is where many students go to study for more collaborative classes. The Hatcher Graduate Library has many booths lining the bookcases on several floors, and it is an ideal place for isolated, quiet study. These places tend to become packed during finals. The Duderstadt Center by the Engineering buildings is open 24 hours a day, and it is usually underutilized. Some students study in the student union, but this area has a lot of traffic, so I do not believe it is conducive to concentrating. VT: Describe the surrounding town. What kinds of outside establishments / things to do are there that make it fun, boring, or somewhere in between? To what extent do students go to the downtown area of the city versus staying near campus? Rahul: Like most state schools, college sports are big at University of Michigan. Tailgating for football starts early, since many of the games are at noon. We usually have the largest football attendance in the country. Basketball and hockey games are also fun to attend. The campus and downtown are very close to each other, so students go to both on weekends. There are many restaurants and shops in Ann Arbor. VT: How big or small is the student body? Were you generally pleased or displeased with the typical class sizes? Rahul: The student body is roughly around 40,000 students total, with about 30,000 students at the undergraduate level. The introductory classes at University of Michigan are large. A typical required lecture course can have 400 students in it. By the time you are in specific courses for your major, a typical class size is around 30 students. I was generally pleased with the class size once I started taking my major-specific courses. VT: Describe one memorable experience with a professor and/or class. Perhaps one you loved the most or one youregretthe most. Rahul: My most memorable class experience was when my classmates and I tested rear fairings that we designed for a model 18-wheeler. We did so in the 5x7 department wind tunnel. What is it Like to Attend the University of Tulsa

What is it Like to Attend the University of Tulsa Catherine earned her bachelors degree in economics and English from the University of Tulsa. She specializes inalgebra tutoring, GRE tutoring, and a number of other subjects. Below, she shares her experience at the University of Tulsa: Describe the campus setting and transportation options. Catherine: The University of Tulsa is a lovely campus in an area of town thats rapidly revitalizing (the university is a big force for that). I never felt unsafe on campus, even late at night. Unfortunately, Tulsa is a car town; there arent a lot of public transit options. Its a quick bike ride or drive from campus to many of the fun neighborhoods and areas of town. If you do use your bike, be sure to be carefulits best to use the neighborhood streets, as many drivers arent used to seeing bikes. How available are the professors, academic advisers, and teaching assistants? Catherine: I never had a problem meeting with a professor or an adviser; its a small school, and people are generally available and happy to talk with you. Also, its a small enough campus that you can find people easily. For instance, if you needed to talk to a certain professor, everyone knew you could always find him outside at a certain time taking his break. How would you describe the dorm life rooms, dining options, location, socialization opportunities with other students? Catherine: The freshman and sophomore dorms and cafeteria are fairly standard. In your junior and senior years, its likely youll be able to get into one of the on-campus apartments, which are spacious and convenient (living room, dining room, full kitchen, etc.). The dorms and apartment communities do host events, but there are plenty of other opportunities to socializeespecially if youre involved in one of the many clubs. Which majors/programs are best represented and supported? Catherine: I studied English and economics. I found the faculties of both programs to be extremely knowledgeable and passionate about what they did. The English department is larger, and probably has more opportunities for working in the field as a student (literary journals both student and professional, a few enviable special collections of original material from authors like James Joyce), but the economics department also supports students original research and opportunities for sharing or publishing. The bigger majors include various engineering persuasions, especially petroleum, and some business majors, like energy management. (Tulsa is an oil town.) How easy or difficult was it for you to meet people and make friends as a freshman? Does Greek life play a significant role in the campus social life? Catherine: Greek life is fairly significant, though I never participated. Faith groups also make up a big component of social life on campus. Personally, I made most of my friends via the student newspaper which I worked for as a reporter and eventually as editor-in-chief. As long as you take a chance on a groupwhether its a sorority or a club like the newspaperyou shouldnt have too much trouble. How helpful is the Career Centerand other student support services? Catherine: Student and career services staff are friendly and helpful. Energy companies, large corporations, and engineering firms have an especially large presence among recruiters. Its more difficult for liberal arts majors; however, I believe that is symptomatic of the larger job market, and not a fault of the school. Plenty of my peers were able to make great connections in the worlds of graphic design or the nonprofit sector. I went into public radio by way of an internship I did at the on-campus NPR affiliate. How are the various study areas such aslibraries, the student union, and dorm lounges? Catherine: The library is probably the top choice for a study area, especially when the weather is nice and its possible to use the tables on the terrace outside of the library. It also has several great reading rooms, as well as rooms and various nooks down in the stacks. Generally, its not too hard to find a good place to camp out and studyexcept for during finals! Describe the surrounding town. Catherine: Downtown Tulsa, just a couple miles away from campus, has boomed in recent years. Theres a lot of fun to be had there at art galleries, restaurants, shops, and parks. A fair number of TU students hang out there, though that tends to be more popular with the people whove grown up in Tulsa. And if you want to learn to two-step, Tulsa is the place for you. How big or small is the student body? Were you generally pleased or displeased with the typical class sizes? Catherine: The undergraduate student body is about 3,000 students. I found the class size to be small and comfortable, especially in the liberal arts classes. Class size tends to run larger in the sciences, for classes like statistics and calculus. Describe one memorable experience with a professor and/or class. Perhaps one you loved the most or one youregretthe most. Catherine: One of the best things I did while at TU was participate in the Tulsa Undergraduate Research Challenge. The program supports undergraduate research, both traditional and unconventional. I opted for the unconventional side, and used the program for support in helping my old high school create a student literary journal. I got to work with a group of students at the high school to help them shape their vision for the journal, solicit and select work, and publish a final product, which continues to this day. What is an Equilateral Triangle

What is an Equilateral Triangle There are different types of triangles based on the sides and the angles of the triangle, and one such type of a triangle is the Equilateral triangle. An equilateral triangle is a triangle which has all equal sides, which implies all the 3 sides are equal in length. Because the sides are equal, the 3 angles are also equal to each other. Since the sum of all the angles in any triangle must add up to 180, hence each angle in an equilateral triangle measures 60. Example 1: What is the area of an equilateral triangle which has the side length equal to 5m? Given the side of an equilateral triangle, s = 5m An equilateral triangle has all the 3 sides equal to each other in length. Hence all the sides are equal to 5m. Area of an equilateral triangle, A = 3/4 * s2 Area of the equilateral triangle, A = 3/4 * (5m) 2 Area, A = 3/4 * 25 = 10.8m2 Hence area of the given equilateral triangle, A = 10.8m2 Example 2: What is the area of an equilateral triangle which has the side length equal to 6m? Given the side of an equilateral triangle, s = 6m An equilateral triangle has all the 3 sides equal to each other in length. Hence all the sides are equal to 6m. Area of an equilateral triangle, A = 3/4 * s2 Area of the equilateral triangle, A = 3/4 * (6m) 2 Area, A = 3/4 * 36 = 15.6m2 Hence area of the given equilateral triangle, A = 15.6m2
